Nine years ago, Ford Genk closed its doors for good. For many, it marked the end of a chapter for Guy, it was the beginning of a new story. In search of a fresh challenge, he joined Yontec, where he has now been working for almost a decade as a dedicated maintenance technician. In this interview, Guy talks about his career path, his transition to Yontec, and why he now truly feels at home as a Yontec employee.
Guy: “My career started at Ford, and when it closed, I began looking for a new challenge. That’s when Davy and I met, and we had a very pleasant, warm, and reassuring conversation. I immediately felt that I was still valued and that I could make a meaningful contribution. And that’s how it happened.”
Guy: “Absolutely. The interaction with colleagues is fantastic. We don’t work together with many colleagues on a daily basis, but when we do get together, at a barbecue or during a Yontec Café the atmosphere is always great. Experiences and anecdotes are always shared, and certainly not just about work!”
Guy: “Fantastic. I’ve never really seen Davy as my boss, he’s more like a friend. We communicate and consult well with each other on a professional level, but also in a more personal, informal way. He’s always ready for a coffee and a chat.”
Guy: “There are many great moments. We regularly organize a Yontec Café, but also sports events. We go bowling, and we have the big family brunch, which is always perfectly organized. The bond between colleagues and management is truly exceptional, phenomenal.”
Guy: “Whether it’s on the work floor between the machines or behind a desk, we can always use new people who bring the Yontec vibe. Interested in one of our vacancies or would you like to convince us with a spontaneous application? Then be sure to visit our vacancies page!”
Guy: “Yes, everything you can think of! The company car can be used privately without limits, as long as we maintain it properly, which is already a major advantage. In addition, we receive eco vouchers and meal vouchers, DKV insurance, and if you’re over 50, you get an extra day of leave. Not bad, right?”
Guy: “Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic!”
Guy: “Go for it! It’s a very pleasant place to work. Just have a chat with Yontec — it’s that simple.”
