Yontec'er Mico: technician with the Yontec vibe!

Mico proves that evolving at Yontec is only possible through daily learning. Immediately after his studies he joined us as a maintenance technician. That in itself is already quite something, as five years' experience is normally required at Yontec. As an exception to the rule, Mico is still learning. And that pays off. "Even if it takes twelve hours of work to solve a problem, the satisfaction remains just as great afterwards."

Changing jobs, not bosses

"I actually came into contact with Yontec quite by accident. During my final year of Industrial Maintenance training, I was doing an internship at a brewery in Bocholt. At the same time, one of their maintenance technicians was also working there."

"He told me all about Yontec. I got interested right away. One of the things that convinced me most to apply was the fact that you can work under one boss for numerous companies."

To measure better is to understand better

"I was therefore very happy when I heard that I could start at Yontec as an electro-mechanic. Given my young age, I knew I still had a lot to learn. But soon I noticed that I was given every opportunity to do so."

"I myself had already completed additional training in motors and sensors at Syntra. Now I want to learn to measure data from machines even better, read electricity even better, program PLC' and solve malfunctions faster. That is why I am currently working on my graduate degree in Electromechanical Systems. This way I want to make even more of a difference in the future."

Great satisfaction when people can work again

After three years, what task still sticks with Mico? "Every breakdown you solve is satisfying. Even if it takes twelve hours to find the problem. In the end, we often have to make sure people can get back to work."

"If I had to pick just one job? At a company that produces waste garbage cans, among other things, I was allowed to replace the old control of a bulkhead press with a completely new system with PLCs and sensors. A big, but very enjoyable challenge."

Vacations in Cuba, punishment!

Our Yontec'ers don't get all punishing on the job. What's the most punishing thing Mico has experienced outside of work hours so far? "That wasn't so much something I realized myself, but mostly experienced. Last year I went on vacation to Cuba. We visited an enormous amount there. I can say without a doubt that I have never experienced anything more punishing. That was really incredible."

"Furthermore, I enjoy motocross a lot. Once in a while I participate in a practice race on the circuit in Lommel. But purely as a hobby. My most punishing achievements are at Yontec (laughs)."
