Yontec'er Veerle: "I felt welcome even before I was hired!"

Not only do our technicians help make our towering ambitions come true. Our offices are also buzzing with punishment. Payroll Officer Veerle (41) ensures that all the hard work at Yontec is literally rewarded. A welcome face on the shop floor in other words!

"I was tired of just dealing with numbers," he said.

Newspaper ads still pay off, as Veerle proves. "I worked for years for big companies in the world of temp agencies and social secretariats. Year after year, I felt the motivation dwindling. I felt like I only saw numbers in front of me, never people. I missed social contact immensely."

"Time to look for something else, I thought. So I signed up for career counseling. It soon became clear that the Payroll Officer position was really for me. I did tell myself right away that I would only work for a company where I could directly do something for other people."

"Not much later, I saw a concrete job offer from Yontec pass by in the newspaper. After some research, I decided to apply. What struck me immediately was the family friendliness that prevailed. Everyone immediately gave me a friendly good day, even though I had never seen them before."

"Actually, I already felt at home when I walked out after the job interview, even though I didn't know yet if I had been hired. When they contacted me with the good news, I didn't have to think twice."

"Right along with helping make a difference"

"It wasn't long before I got to work on my first major project. To make wage allocation more efficient, traditional hourly receipts give way to digital timekeeping."

"It took a lot of work to get the system all set up and implement all the numbers. But once it was in place, the positive reactions came in immediately. I quickly realized that here you get to actively help grow the company. And that your own suggestions really matter."

"There will be some laughing ... and singing"

"Yet it also quickly became clear that the fun factor is at least as important as the professional part. There is a lot of laughter in the office every day. Especially when marketing colleague Joey presents his singing repertoire. He is my personal radio (laughs)."

"In addition, I am greatly looking forward to the next Yontec event. Corona is putting a stop to it at the moment, but fortunately I have already had the opportunity to experience several. My favorite? The family brunch. When I first came there with my family, I hardly knew anyone, but for some reason they all knew me. Ha, thou art the one of wages, surely! So my name was already made (laughs)."

"My men will draw their plan."

Where do you find Veerle mainly outside office hours? "At the office and at home, I give my all for everyone. Outside of that, it's time for myself. My husband and son are now old and wise enough to make their own plans. (laughs)."

"In my case, relaxing means exercising, exercising and another exercising. Circuit training, zumba, BBB and soon Latin solo. The list is already starting to get pretty full. And having a drink with good friends once in a while. So we can be ready for Monday morning!
